About Me!
About Me!
Ok, lets have some fun with this! When you are done send me your answers or any other questions you think I should add.
Star sign: Taurus
Height: 6′ 2” (I hate flying, its not like I’m THAT tall, the seats are made for menehunes)
Weight: Somewhere between an f150 and Saturn. Working on it, 50 lost, 50 to go!
Favorite color: Purple I think? With the exception of dinosaurs. They should not be purple and definitely shouldn’t sing and dance.
Favorite TV Show: Used to be spitting image until it stopped (check youtube for “Da do run run Ron” or “the chicken song” for examples). These days it’s a tie between The Daily Show and Phineas and Furb (it’s for the kids honest!). When I was a kid it was Trapdoor, Thundercats and Stingray.
What made you laugh today: Trying to convince my nearly 2 year old to have her nappy changed and her shouting “not me” at me and running off.
Greatest Invention in the world: Series link on DVR’s and \ or on demand TV, essential stuff for parenthood. I can’t remember the last time I watched a program I like live.
Greatest Invention in my kids world: Tabby blankets.
Proudest moment: No contest, my kids being born. It’s also my happiest moment and the most worrying time.
Favorite Food: Steak and Ale Pie with (english) chips from the Lion Inn @ Blakey Ridge.
Perfect Day: A relaxing morning lazing about sipping coffee, eating real bacon sandwiches and watching an Formula 1 race followed by an afternoon with the kiddies playing at the beach then a great family meal in the evening.
Favorite quotes:
- “in vino veritas” (in wine is truth),
- “For myself, I am an optimist — it does not seem to be much use being anything else” Winston Churchill,
- “What good’s a god who gives you everything you want? … It’s the HOPE that’s important. Give people jam today, and they’ll just sit and eat it. Jam tomorrow, now — that’ll keep them going for ever.” Terry Pratchett, Hogfather
- “Probably the last sound heard before the Universe folded up like a paper hat would be someone saying, ‘What happens if I do this?’” Terry Pratchett, Interesting Times
Favorite book: Anything by Terry Pratchett or The Lord of The Rings.
What did you want to do when you were a kid: I wanted to be a Vet until I found out you had to be smart. I think I have the perfect job now.
Most embarrassing moment: Laughing so hard during my wedding vows that I snorted. “richer or poorer” set us both off laughing.
Musical Talents: Loading a CD player is about my limit, I couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket but I can just about play a ukulele which proves just how easy they are!
Favorite Movie: Withnail and I , “get in the back of the van!” Cult movie with a well deserved reputation.
Hero: Outside of family members it would have to be Nigel Mansell the ex F1 racer. I have never seen anybody with his determination. After driving for nearly two hours in crazy heat his car broke down not far from the finish line, he got out and pushed it over the line. He took a test drive to get into F1 with a broken back because it might have been his only chance. One race he drove sat in fuel severely burning his legs and back. That’s some serious determination.
Worst habit: My poor wife would say my lack of tidiness (if stuff is on the floor its easier to see right?) and she probably has a point but probably trying to fix things myself gets my vote. It’s a dangerous mix of confidence and curiosity and stubbornness (I said Taurus remember!).
